DolphinSong
The cry of a dolphin says here I’m the stranger
The sea foam and moon tide still meter their
song.
Off the bow I feel singing without hearing
voices,
A keen, quiet wisdom to steer us along.
With the slipping of latitude I’m losing my
footing,
Forgetting the places I thought were my own.
Asleep in the fo’c’sle I dreamt I heard crickets--
The dolphins are singing to welcome me home.
