Bainbridge Island Renaissance Feast - Step back in time to the elegant courts of Europe with an elegant Renaissance feast catered by Ravenrook Ltd. Caroling for Seattle Education Access - Blood, Love & Rhetoric will be featured at a special event for the Seattle Educational Access, a non-profit which provides higher education advocacy and opportunity to marginalized high-potential young adults. Tis the Season for Caroling and the troupe will doubtlessly be wandering the streets of Seattle through the season. Keep your eyes open and call for a scheduled visitation!

Feast at Western Washington WMA Workshop - Ravenrook Ltd. will again present a sumptuous Renaissance banquet for the assembled scholars and practitioners of historical European martial arts assembled at this extraordinary Seattle event. Gig Harbor Renaissance and Fantasy Faire Academia della Spada and Blood, Love & Rhetoric will return to the Faire for another year of music, swordplay, singing and frollic. Join us at our encampment and visit the kitchen to see what's cooking. Watch for the advent of "The Good Companye" - come see what 'living by the sword' really felt like. If you're lucky you may even get caught up in the action.

Whitman Renaissance Faire Ravenrook Ltd's Blood, Love & Rhetoric will perform at Whitman College's Renaissance Faire to take place April 30th. Song, dance and swordplay will appear take place on the stages of Whitman College's long-standing annual faire. For additional information about the faire, click here.

Pirates of Port Angeles Tall ships and swashbucklers lay seige to the sleep town of Port Angeles on June 18th and 19th. There'll be swordplay and sea shanties galore! Come try your luck with cutlas and rapier aboard The Lady Washington and Bill of rights. Join our not-so-bloodthirsty brigands of the sea as they cross steal for plunder. Motzart's Magic Flute - For Kids! Shulamit Kleinerman brings Motzart's magical masterpiece to life with drama, dance, art, and storytelling activities. This summer workshop allows children to develop close familiarity with the opera's story and music. Special guests offer exciting, interactive presentations each day.

Baroque Opera - Anna Mansbridge, Shulamit Kleinerman, Cecil Longino, Toivo Rovainen and Nathan Barnett will participate in the Seattle Early Music Guild's performance of the Venus and Adonis, Monteverdi's lush and eloquent opera of the love of a Goddess for a mortal. Western Washington WMA Workshop Academia della Spada is proud to host the first major Historic European Martial Arts symposium in the Pacific Northwest on February 25-27. This unique event, called the Western Washington Western Martial Arts Workshop (4W, for brevity.s sake), will feature the highest quality instruction in historical fence that the Western Martial Arts community has to offer. Pacific Northwest Donor Gala September 18th will feature swordplay by Ravenrook fencers Cecil Longino and Nathan Barnett along with Jherek Swanger. This exclusive event will feature duelling and performance by two of our finest fencers, fully prepared to cross both swords and wits to get the girl. Who will win?

Gig Harbor Renaissance Faire Blood, Love & Rhetoric and Academia della Spada. BLR will sing, dance and cavort throught the day dressed in Elizabethan finery as well as teaching English country dances and demostrating the more elaborate dances of the court. Academia della Spada will present demonstrations and classes of the Renaissance duel. The Faire is slated for August 7-8, 14-15, and 21-22. In addition to demonstrations of rapier, back sword, and long sword techniques, the Academy will be offering intensive classes and presenting demonstration bouts between various weapons. Midsummer's Feast and Revel Ravenrook hosted its semi-annual feast featuring Anna Mansbridge teaching English country dances. Music and entertainment by Blood, Love & Rhetoric was enlivened by a series of duels by Academia della Spada students and scholars. Students and scholars of the Noble Art were encouraged to participate in the tournament to be held on the green amidst feasting and merriment. Photos from the feast can be found here.

AdS at TolCon 27 The Academy will present a demonstration at the 1st TolCon in Seatac on May 16th from 12 - 2 pm on Sunday. The demonstration will compare weapons and armor of Tolkein's Lord of the Rings trilogy with historical practices. Participants will receive an overview of rapier, sword, and longsword techniques. Time permitting, they will also receive instruction of basic techniques for the respective weapons. For more information on TolCon, click here.
